I too would like to see recurring events in the task items without making it a calendar event item. (Of course after checking with Mimi I'm finding out that this is slated for post preview).
So the example I was thinking of was if I were to set an alarm on a task such as paying bills, it would not be a single date and time as much as the recurring 'weekly, monthly…etc.' Though you probably want to allow the user to do both, to set an alarm just once and to set it so it's recurring.
