After reviewing this with Mimi, it sounds like adding 'DAV' would complicate the 'Add to calendar' part of the drop down. Instead we talked about just listing out all the applications and then displaying the respected URLs accordingly on the pull down. I also reviewed this with Bobby and it will be possible to add a drop down to select the applications in the 'Collection Details' dialog:
huh? a subscribe dropdown in the collection details dialog? where'd that come from? every mockup i've seen shows a list of urls. it's one thing to make a simple application-oriented subscribe dropdown on the collection preview page itself. that's simple and easy for users unfamiliar with the app to understand. the collection details dialog should provide access to all of the relevant information about the collection, including all of the urls that can be used to access the collection, including dav, morse code, etc. there *will* be times when we will need to help users with problems by directing them to this dialog and asking for a url from it.

the number of different applications in this menu is starting to look silly. and what about apps that support both webcal and caldav (sunbird, evolution, ical in 2007)?
* Note:* + some of the URLs will be the same. + once selecting the application there would be some brief instructions on what to do and the application version it supports, etc. + For 0.6, I don't think there is a need to complicate iCal and post both URLs, but post 0.6, would add 2 URLs under 'iCal' selection in the dialog? Or Have to a separate iCal for Leopard in the drop down menu? We can address issue for the next release.
well if we're going to wait and address something for the next release, why don't we wait on the explicit listing of applications? why not just put in webcal and caldav for now? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Open Source Applications Foundation "Design" mailing list http://lists.osafoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/design
