Ahhh-hhaaaa...this is covered by a different workflow. Most likely,
the Warriors schedule was imported/subscribed to as a Not-Mind
collection, in which case, the contents are always deleted and moved
to the Trash, except for items that have been added to other
collections.
That is why there is no dialog asking you if you want to 'Delete just
the collection' or 'Delete the collection + it's items'...when
deleting Not-Mine collections.

Either way, I think collection deletion will be quite rare. How
often do
you delete folders from your email app and/or calendars from your

Well, unsurprisingly (given that I filed the bug), I have a different
perspective.
I think deleting collections may be quite a bit more common than
deleting email folders. Here's my use case:
I want to buy tickets to a basketball game to attend with my
brother. I
don't care a bit about the Warriors schedule for most of the year
(since
Michael Jordan stopped playing I can't bring myself to pay
attention to
the NBA like my brother wants me to), but I figure the most convenient
way to browse the Warriors schedule is to download their season as
iCalendar, which creates a "Warriors schedule" collection.
I overlay my calendar with the schedule, find the games I want to see
with my brother, add them to my personal calendar collection, then
delete the whole Warriors schedule collection.
In this case, I very much want to keep the games I added to my
personal
collection around, that was the whole point!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey
