I'd still prefer using a command key combination instead

I personally think a hidden command key combination is a terrible idea for any functionality we might ask end-users to use. Asking some user on email or over the phone to do that has worked poorly for me in the past (on this particular project). I'd much rather point someone at a menu item available to them.

Interesting. It's worked well for me in the past. I usually had a core group of experienced beta testers I regularly worked with that had no trouble with it.

Obviously I would put things that are generally useful in the test menu.

But sometimes it would be useful for me to be able to ask a savvy user with a problem to open up the block viewer and tell me the value of an attribute on a block.

One of my main reasons for preferring it over the plugin is purely selfish. It's just easier for me to use those commands in the release version. And if I'm helping someone I don't need to have them restart Chandler and explain how to install the plugin they need to track down the problem.
