ok here are my screenshots on how it looks so far. I have been trying to make it work to some extent and thus took some more time posting the screen shots :(.
http://wiki.osafoundation.org/Journal/CosmoGroupsUI Mimi - to be specific, I am looking for feedbacks on this group management interface. It is supposed to be the group management UI for Cosmo administrators. Checkout the second and third screenshots on how drag is implemented. The second screen shot shows a mouse over on the list elements - I wanted to make it stand out so that a user can feel its draggable. We should probably also have some other indication(s) saying that its draggable. Recently we had some discussions on removing the update button and updating the list dynamically without clicking the update button. This can happen throughout the ui, where instead of pressing a button (like for saving events) it could be updated dynamically - the way it happens in Chandler. But since it does not happen that way, I assume that there was some design thoughts and so would like to know the best way we could handle this drag update.. maybe we should also paginate the groups/users in this modify dialog (both on the left and right side), but that would complicate the design. If any of you can think of other approaches or more constructive comments on making this draggable approach work, please reply. Its not related to preview in any way - but I would like to see it sometime soon in Cosmo, based on how well my ACL work proceeds. This group work can be extended in many forms and I plan to code later in my free time :). so more design suggestions about other possible things are welcome. -- Vinu In a world without fences who needs Gates? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Open Source Applications Foundation "Design" mailing list http://lists.osafoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/design
