It might be worth seeing how much machine code is in the release, since it is the part that is doubled.

Our libraries are pretty chunky. I did an experiment, and the end- user checkpoint releases are:

PPC: 139 MB
Intel: 116 MB

I wrote a script that combines the two into a universal binary, and that comes out as:

Universal: 170 MB

Whether that script can or should be part of the build system, and when, is probably a question for [EMAIL PROTECTED]
