Mimi,
It all sounds good.
One question though: Would the default sharing account OOTB still be
"Chandler Hub sharing"?
In that case if people setup an account to "Chandler Server sharing"
they won't be able to make it their default sharing account.

Bringing a private discussion to the design list.
Currently we have 1 sharing account type for Chandler's Morse-Code
sharing format which is meant to serve both Chandler Hub users as
well as those sharing with their own version of Chandler Server.
This approach however, poses a number of usability issues, namely:
+ The Sign up text in the Chandler Hub sharing account is
inappropriate for Chandler Server users.
+ Chandler Hub users don't actually need to fill out any account
information other than username and password, but Chandler Server
users do.
We are proposing to address these 2 issue by separating the
Chandler Hub and Chandler Server sharing accounts into 2 separate
account types, which would give us 3 sharing account types total:
1. Chandler Hub sharing
2. Chandler Server sharing
3. WebDAV sharing
What does this mean?
+ Sign up text (see bug 9159): https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/
show_bug.cgi?id=9159 only appears in the Chandler Hub Sharing account
+ Server, Path, SSL, Port fields don't appear on the Chandler Hub
Sharing account. The only thing we need are username and password.
- This would leave us with more room to place the 'Sign up' text in
the main area of the account form where it is more likely to be
seen. (See comp below.) But this is a NTH if it's too much trouble.
A few minor nits:
+ The word 'sharing' should lowercase like 'mail' is.
+ The Description of the sharing accounts should match the account
type:
- Creating a new "Chandler Hub sharing" account type should create
a new "Chandler Hub sharing" in the Accounts list.
