completely agree. The first impressions from showing the app to a friend and our intern Jacob, were they were a little lost on how to use the app. If we launched Chandler in the calendar view with a collection already selected in the sidebar, they would instantly know how to get started.

Hi Folks,

I'd like to propose that new Chandler repositories start with the Home
collections selected, instead of the Dashboard. The current system,
which Philippe just finished implementing, is described in

The current starting experience is much better than when there weren't
any OOTB collections, but I think a really common case is for someone to want to see the Calendar view. If a "normal" collection was selected at
the start, people wouldn't have to learn about collections and the
different no-calendar-view behavior of "special" collections if their
first goal was to play with the calendar.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey
