yes. authenticating to the server as a user gives full read-write
access to everything in that user's home collection.

the ticket is irrelevant to the actual sharing operation. why would
you want to subscribe to your own collection read-only? the only
reason the ticket is required is so that desktop can go into the web
ui to dig out the mc url.
