What I am suggesting is not a context menu, which typically requires a
command or shift key to access. I do agree that discoverability is
critical. I just think that having the noun on one side of town and
the verb on the other side of town is not very discoverable. And
actually, if you think about it, most people today are using web
software where *there is no* menu bar at all. Direct manipulation of
objects is critical as the world is driven more and more by the web
and people become very used to simple metaphors.
