** Changed in: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => Medium

** Package changed: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) => debian-installer (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- GNOME fails to start on jax10 when installed onto a single SSD drive
+ Installer fails to prompt when there isn't enough space to do a full
installation.

** Description changed:

  During installer testing of the lpia alternate CD, GNOME fails to start.
  This is likely because there is very little free space at the end of
  installation, very little free space is available. The Use Entire Disk
  option on the jax10 uses one of the two SSDs (which are 2GiB in size),
  and creates a 1.8GiB partition. The default install eats 1.7GiB. This
  issue disappears if LVM is used to bridge the two SSDs into a single
  root partition, and then Ubuntu is installed onto that.
+
+ As this configuration is less that the bare bones mini. requirements,
+ the installer should at least prompt in such a case and provide warning
+ that manual partitioning or something may be necessary.

+ If GNOME is installed onto a system with a nearly full HDD afte
+ rinstallation, gnome-session appears to hang during login, with just a
+ mouse pointer given. The issue disappears on the same hardware if a
+ larger partition is used (such as LVM across two small drives).
