Thanks Sebastien, that is good information bugs generally don't get backported to stable unless there are security or work stoppers, due to the overhead of regression testing. I've only been using Ubuntu a couple years and reported few bugs, so I am not that familiar with how to use this tool.
I noticed several people continued to post confirmations after the fix release in Karmic. Perhaps this isn't common knowledge for those not familiar with bug reporting in Ubuntu. It would be nice to publish this more generally somewhere to reduce the repetitive load in Launchpad.
