It is likely that the bug has already been reported upstream and it would be great if you check if one of the bugs at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=product:evolution+vcard is similar to what you experience, because then we can link this bug here and get noticed when it gets fixed.
