I'm not sure what information is needed to research this bug properly... that is not clear. My ISP (Virgin Media here in he UK) forced a change of smtp server address on we customers without bothering to inform us. I have changed the smtp server details to the new correct ones, and the username has had to be changed too. However I cannot send mail. It would appear that Evolution (under Lucid Lynx (today's date is Sat 7th August 2010)) does not clear the previous password, as I have not been prompted for a new one at any point. I simply get the message "server timed out". Using the "Forget Passwords" option under the EDIT menu, it is clear that POP passwords are being deleted, as I am prompted for them to be re-input, and that works fine, but somehow I am never prompted for the new SMTP password. It may be that the connection is timed out 'rather too quickly' by the ISP server, however Evolution should ask for the new password BEFORE trying a connection, given that many SMTP servers "time out" very quickly - that is what appears to be the case. Does anyone have any ideas how to get round this in the meantime? I have tried deleting the account name in Evolution in the hope that a newly created account would prompt a passwrod from the very start, but it does not. I am stuck with no incoming emails, many of which are very important to me.. any help appreciated!
