Reproduced every time on fresh install of Ubuntu 2015.10 on a Thinkpad T550 with 16GB of RAM, all settings by default except a few Unity tweaks, freshly rebooted.
When transferring a 364GB file, Ubuntu becomes extremely unresponsive. Mouse very difficult to move but I managed to click Firefox&s icon, it opened after a few minutes. On the opposite, I was unable to open a terminal despite clicking its icon several times, not sure why. The copy happens nonetheless, at 100 MB/second, and after it succeeds Ubuntu becomes usable again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208993 Title: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1208993/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
