Thanks so much for the detailed response and for pointing me to those Mutter merge requests—very helpful!
Unfortunately, my machine (Lenovo P16 Gen 2) doesn't have any external display outputs wired directly to the iGPU—all USB-C and HDMI ports are connected to the NVIDIA GPU. So I can't make use of the iGPU for external displays as a workaround. Given that, I was wondering: is there a Wayland-compatible equivalent to prime-select nvidia that would allow me to run everything on the NVIDIA GPU, like I used to in X11? Or does the current Wayland architecture still rely on the iGPU being the primary driver, even when the dGPU is used for rendering? Thanks again for the insight and your work on improving the experience! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2105500 Title: Low FPS on wayland when running dual monitors on laptop with Nvidia GPU and iGPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2105500/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
