This looks related to bug #104395 from 2007
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/104395), which
describes the lack of auto-scrolling while dragging in Nautilus. So it
seems this might historically have been a missing functionality rather
than a regression.

As far as I know, I didn't ever use Xorg with Ubuntu.

I'm now questioning my own memory because I also use a Mac at work which
does have scrolling-while-dragging feature. But I'll install Ubuntu
24.04 just to test and be sure.

Title:
While dragging files or folders, scrolling doesn’t work in Ubuntu
25.04 (Nautilus 48.0). This prevents moving items into deeper
directories without dropping and restarting the drag.
