The problem only happens on the live-CD, and it happens for every
.desktop file that is copied to the Desktop. The translations are there,
but they are not shown.

Seems to happen with every language (tested French and Finnish), and
does not occur on an installed system. What could be different between a
live system and an installed system.

Added nautilus, but purely guessing. Something is preventing the
translations from being shown, and it's surely not ubiquity itself.
