Public bug reported: In Ubuntu, the Activities overview is usually not shown after login. If I understand correctly, that's controlled via the org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock disable-overview-on-startup setting.
However, in the authd end-to-end tests, we do see the test VMs start with the Activities overview quite frequently. We see this both in Noble and Questing VMs (the only releases we currently test). The gnome-shell versions used in the tests (46.3.1-1ubuntu1~24.04.1authd10 on Noble, gnome-shell - 49~beta.1-0ubuntu4~authd3 on Questing) are from the authd- edge PPA (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-enterprise- desktop/+archive/ubuntu/authd-edge), but I don't expect the issue to be related to the patches specific to these versions. The logs don't show anything that seems to be related. ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2145704 Title: GNOME Shell sometimes starts with the Activities overview opened To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2145704/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
