More information: It is something that has happened to the profile. If I move away the .evolution directory, and start it (thus forcing it to create a new profile) I do not see a hang. Now I do have important information I want to retain in the old profile so if anyone has ideas about migrating the emails, filters, tasks and calendar from the old profile to a new one I would really, really like to know about them.
