Binary package hint: gnome-panel

alsa was putting out sound but when i attempted to fix poping and clicks
by accessing the alsa tools it almost immediately failed nothing i have
tried since has resolved it, which includes all the recommended steps in
the Ubuntu sound troubleshooter. seems to be a driver issue but thats
just my best guess
