I lean towards putting the rlimit in libgnomeui, but that's because it would make things more robust. It's like a safety valve so that things that are out of our direct control (GNOME's direct control) don't explode. <ignorant> Why is thumbnailing videos hard? Don't you just uncompress the first frame and scale it? </ignorant> Also, the proposed 5 seconds / 256 MB of memory is completely arbitrary. We can certainly have 10 seconds, but I'd be wary of raising the memory limit too much. <rant> 5 seconds of CPU time is 10,000,000,000 instructions at 2 GHz.
