I agree with the idea of Taylor's origin post. Some people want framework of frameworks. I appreciate their efforts. However, I don't think this make sense if we consider long-term. If someone is trying to make thing simpler and more elegant, go ahead. I like the Mac OS X way of language settings. I'm happy to see GNOME is catching up. I don't know how much integration is done in code. But I think you should examine both IBus and Fcitx carefully before hardcode anything. I think the internally more elegant one should be picked. >From various discussion I've seen, many experienced user would see Fcitx to IBus migration as a serious regression.
