Its a long mail thread. Gist of issue :-
Gnome can provide any IME or Input method as a default input method. No one
has objection.
Problem:-
Gnome should allow other engines to. Right now it is not allowing.
Solution(May be):-
Gnome and IME developers  should have a common protocol.
