At the risk of starting a flame war (and I'll add that I use NWAM MOST 
of the time), there was a tool called inetmenu available on the 
OpenSolaris site here: 
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/inetmenu

I've not released an update (mainly to use dladm instead of wificonfig), 
but if you think this would be usefull, I can send you the latest version.

In short, if you want to have more direct control about what is 
connecting where, and if you want to have multiple interfaces 
configured, and you want to easily configure static netwrking, then 
inetmenu might be what you want.

Nwam WILL get there, but in the meantime...
