Then you should not have had to use pkgtrans. You might ask the engineer
who recommended it if there is a known bug with the package tools on S9
(I've not heard of one, but I haven't used S9 in years;) and, if not,
ask him to report it....

('course you should make sure you're up to date with recommended patches
first!)
