I use the command line login feature all the time in dtlogin, in fact
it's one of the reasons why I continue to use it over gdm2 on Solaris.
If Solaris had virtual terminals, I wouldn't bother, but since it
doesn't there are times where I need a non-X11 command line. So,
either virtual terminals in Solaris or a command line login option are
definitely needed for gdm2 for me...
