Performance of what? Desktop drawing? 3D drawing? disk i/o?
What you upgrade depends on what you want to improve. Adding more
RAM will help most things. Upgrading video card may help general
desktop performance, will definitely help 3-D performance. A faster
disk may improve disk i/o. Swapping the whole thing out for a
machine less than 5 years old is probably the most cost-effective way
to improve overall performance.
