It is working fine for me with both OpenSolaris and nevada. Did you do

svccfg -s svc:/application/x11/x11-server setprop options/tcp_listen=true

X :n -query <host>

OpenSolaris defaults to tcp_listen=false (security, I suppose). Make sure the
screensaver is off if you are switching endians - there are couple of bugs
in the queue...
