Except for the problem that it terminates the console session, gdm->dtlogin
does work for me, from OpenSolaris-b111a to snv103 at least, even if it is
useless because of this. Have you tried xdmcp from the command line? Maybe
it would help troubleshoot the problem you are having...

It would be interesting to know if snv->gdm works or not. I might try
it with the latest Open Solaris if I can find the time...

I use the last digits of the IP address for the screen number; since it
is difficult to get xdmcp to work across networks, the last digits
of the IP address are unique. I am going to file a bug against gdm
since it really should be able to work with dtlogin without terminating
any existing sessions...
