OK; thanks.  Actually, I'd found those bug reports by google when I
was trying to fix the problem on my own, and (as I originally
reported) the work-arounds suggested (involving LC_PAPER and other
locale-related variabes) do not seem to work at all.

Thanks for confirming that there's no fix yet in OpenSolaris, though,
so I don't keep hunting for one.

Wenn nur I could have the problem that the people in Germany are
having, where they're always getting "letter" by default and unable to
set "A4."  *sigh*
