Hi Brian,
I've made an attempt to backport the patch needed, and sent Jim a binary to
check if it works as he's expecting.
The bug :

was fixed a long time ago, obviously it didn't suffice...
The real fix that that for the bug:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=525185
which was integrated into 2.25.x.
