How can I help someone debug this problem? I'm going to log out and log back in to see if that fixes the problem (I expect it to), so if someone wants to debug it in its broken state let me know soon. BTW, it sure would be nice if this left keypad support were available on non-Sun versions of these programs. > Did you tried using /usr/X11/bin/xev to test if proper X events are > generated? No. When I use xev on Ubuntu, where the left keypad keys don't work either (although apparently that's because the support for them isn't compiled into the versions of the programs available on Ubuntu), I still get events from the keys. I'll try it on my desktop system tomorrow when I'm back in my office and let you know if I'm *not* get events, but I strongly suspect the events are still being generated.
