I have an S11 Express desktop system that is exhibiting really odd
behaviour.
On login, it takes several minutes form the Gnome menu bars and desktop
icons to appear, but one terminal is there and works immediately.
Remote applications just launch to a blank, grey window.
Application dialogue windows open and stay as a blank, grey window for
several minutes the first time they appear. At least in Solaris Studio,
the first dialogue window to open will lock the display until it start
to respond.
I believe this behaviour started after an power outage. Any ideas as to
the cause, or a fix (no matter how crude!)?
