Same issue occurs for me on every boot of an up to date Oneiric x86_64 install. After the lightdm login screen is displayed I enter my username and password hit login, the login screen disappears briefly before reappearing, The same happens with what ever session type I choose, for example Gnome3 or Unity. If I switch to a virtual terminal and login first I can then switch back to lightdm and login normally. This has been happening for about a week.
What can I provide to help track down the cause of the issue?
