Ah interesting. I've been reading the brasero bugs on gnome bugzilla and it seems they use wodim and not growisofs?
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474325 Perhaps a bug watch is in order, although that bug seems stalled and is rather generic. Anyway, thanks. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #474325 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474325 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664074 Title: BD-R media unsupported Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: brasero Attaching a screenshot to demonstrate the problem. This is in Ubuntu 10.10. I have not confirmed that it exists in earlier versions of Ubuntu, but I do suspect that to be the case. Brasero won't recognize a blank BD-R. I can, however, burn ISO images to blank BD-R media from the command line, so I know that the underlying utilities support it.
