Title: gnome classic: System menu missing Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After upgrading to oneiric, I cannot get any desktop option that works as usual. The closest thing to a usual ubuntu desktop is the gnome classic option, but even that has problems: All manually set launchers are gone, all appearance settings are ignored, and even from the standard menus (Applications-Places-System) the System menu is missing, there's not even access to the most important Preferences or Administration tools.
