Background images not handled right with appearance settings

Bug description:
* Precondition
Pictures folder contains pictures
Pictures folder contains a folder with more pictures
* User story
u: go to 'system settings', 'appearance'.
s: Setting window appears
U: change pictures source from 'wallpaper´ to 'pictures folder'.
U: press '+' button to selects a picture from a folder in the picture folder.
S: The selected picure is set as wallpaper.
S: The appearance window shows this picture as selected/highlighted .
* Expected behavior
The '-' button is enabled for the currently selected picture to allow user to
remove this picture
After restarting the appearance window the added pictures are remembered.
* Current behavior
The '-' button is never anabled
After restarting the appearance window the added pictures are NOT remembered.
