I'm experiencing the same behavior. I can authenticate my facebook account and enter the device name, but it keep saying that needs authorization; in my facebook security settings an entry for gwibber is added.

When I stop it, no Facebook entry was created. On my third try the Facebook account was created, but it still requires authorisation. When I click on "Authorise" it gets stuck on "veryifying..." again. Gwibber does not hang or become unresponsive and I can close the window at any time. Other than that I'm experiencing no issues. Gwibber did accepted my Twitter account and appears to be downloading tweets on this account.
