It seems that this bug was filed on Ubuntu 10.10. It should be
noted that this version of Ubuntu is no longer supported, and
using a more recent version of Ubuntu is strongly recommended.
If you experience any problems in the latest release of the
Software Center which ships in Ubuntu 12.04, please do
continue to report new bugs.

The laptop shutdown accedintly during package installation. Then both
update manager can not do the updates due to error and the interrupted
installations can not be installed again.
