You can usually get this missing functionality by enabling the Gnome Desktop startup in the XFCE settings, which then starts nautilus after login, or to start nautilus manually like /usr/bin/nautilus --no-default-window However, since upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, this does not work anymore, nautilus is not willing to start anymore. When starting it from the commandline it just says % /usr/bin/nautilus --no-default-window Initializing nautilus-gdu extension Shutting down nautilus-gdu extension and then exits. regards ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: nautilus 1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu May 3 23:29:14 2012 GsettingsChanges: org.gnome.nautilus.window-state geometry '800x550+63+24' InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111011) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/tcsh SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-05-03 (0 days ago) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/994240/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
