Dave Lentz ~"It used to operate the way you describe, but some people didn't like that and decided to change it." You are incorrect, it does indeed operate as described.
I would assume that clicking the "Close" button on any app would "Close" the application, not keep going. As in the OP's statement, not only does the app keep playing music, but there is no "Tray" icon (at least not in Unity). One has to go to the Dash, find the program and start it again...then click "pause" then "close"...though I am not sure that actually "closes" the app (ie. removing the app from RAM). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995788 Title: rhythmbox music player keeps playing after being closed down Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I was playing a song using rhythmbox music player and had enough so I closed the program by clicking the little "x" in the top-left corner. This closed the window alright, but the music kept playing. In fact, after the current song finished, the next song in the list started to play.
