Unity launcher settings not saved

Bug description:
Neither auto-hide nor Launcher icon size settings are not saved after
logoff.
Steps to repeat:
Go to Settings - Appearance and change Launcher icon size. Click on Behavior
tab and turn on "Auto-hide the launcher". Settings work until logging off and
then back on. After logging off and on both auto-hiding and icon size is reset
back to dafault.
Reprodusable always on 2 different laptops: Macbook Pro 5.5 and Dell
D620. Both runnig Presise 64bit up-to-date as of Mar 27 2012; fresh
install from beta 1 CD
Everything in my home directory is owned by my user ID so it is should
not be permissions issue.
The only non-default setting in my setup is that I have my home
directory encrypted.
