Title:
NetworkManager hangs on "Attempting to join the wireless network"

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When trying to connect wirelessly, I constantly get asked to provide
my wireless key, but it ends up failing and asking me over and over
again as it gets stuck in an endless loop. This has been happening to
quite a few people. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and once I finish doing a
actual install on my machine, I will upload my dmesg and syslog files.
If you need any more information just ask and I will try to provide
you with it in hopes of getting this fixed. Also, here is a link to
the thread for which this originated

  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1036068&page=2

  Ryan Schwenker.

EDIT: I managed to fix this by using WPA instead of WEP, but if I did
not change that setting on my network, this issue still is valid.
