Hello and thank you for your bug report. The version of Software Center
that is reported above indicates that you are using Ubuntu version
10.10, the Maverick Meerkat. Unfortunately, support of this version was
discontinued as of April, 2012. Please upgrade to a newer version of
Ubuntu at your earliest opportunity. In particular, the latest version
(12.04) is an LTS (Long Term Support) release, and this would be a fine
version to upgrade to.
Besides the many improvements and bug fixes in later versions of Ubuntu,
the user experience itself has been greatly improved. I think you could
enjoy the changes very much.
