Hi Dylan, and thanks for your report! This problem was actually reported
separately in bug 969273, so I will mark this as a duplicate of that
one. Please note that we have committed a fix for this issue and it will
be released soon to both Precise as an SRU and in the next development
release in Quantal.
Thanks again!

Title:
Purchased, installed software listed twice in search results
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
To reproduce this, purchase (and install) software in Software Centre.
Now, search for the package name exactly.
The same application will be listed twice: once for the actual
installed package with no icon; and again with the description you saw
when you purchased the software, with an icon and screenshots and a
nice description. (I am attaching a screenshot to show this).
This will also happen with a partial match, but then the excess result
(for the package) appears under Technical Items.
Some searches that I have verified behave like this:
- bastion
- amnesia
- swordandsworcery
- worldofgoo (though I didn't actually buy this one through SC, so maybe it
could be sane in some cases?)
I noticed one exception so far: Limbo. That happens because the
package is named ia32-limbo, so a search for "limbo" isn't an exact
match for that and a search for the package name doesn't match the
fancy description from the store.
