The bug happen also under 12.04.
Remove all totem packages, especially totem-common, then restart the
computer and display the properties from a video file. There is an error
message :
Couldn't load the '/usr/share/totem/properties.ui' interface. Failed to
open file '/usr/share/totem/properties.ui': No such file or directory

Title:
Jaunty without totem error when viewing properties of video file
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Jaunty 9.04 beta
I successfully removed totem in Jaunty beta using:
sudo apt-get remove totem totem-common totem-gstreamer totem-mozilla
totem-plugins
Because I wanted to use VLC instead. When I tried to view the
properties of a video file (A .mkv to be exact), I received an error:
Couldn't load the '/usr/share/totem/properties.ui' interface. Failed
to open file '/usr/share/totem/properties.ui': No such file or
directory
It appears that it uses totem to create a properties dialog of the
selected video, but perhaps if the properties dialog relies on the
'/usr/share/totem/properties.ui,' perhaps the totem should be marked
as a dependency of nautilus.
