y after decades of using 1024 formula ubuntu changing for this the site
is centos website & all the other sites display the same in the real
work can i go to a shop & ask for a 730MB(or so) Blank CD...?? well all
the other worl except ubuntu uses 1024 formula y cant they use it. the
real world is not going to change & all the things ubuntu should do is
to attract new followers not the other way araound if i was a completely
new user just came from windows & discovered this in ubuntu shal i use
it anymore... well its upto ubuntu to decide & its up to us to look for
a new distro or stick with this

  File size wrong calculation ubuntu 12.04

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  i have downloaded an ISO from centos site the size is 698MB as per the
  site after i downloaded it it shows 730MB.. i have tested this by
  downloading other files to .. the file size is shown wrong ( increases
  ) for all the files regardless of file type  . im attaching
  screenshots of the file sises .. so u get an idea of what im talking
  about .. plz not the file size in the status bar. i have noticed  this
  in ubuntu 11.10 to

  OS=ubuntu 12.04
  Nautilus version = 3.4
