thanks for the bug report. This issue have been fixed in Ubuntu 12.04
and I don't see any chance of it ever being fixed in 11.10 since we are
not sure what exactly fixed this issue.

Bug description:
When the search or run a command entry is cleared, the user cannot
click on the first row anymore
TEST CASE
1. Press 'ALT+F2' to open 'Run a command'
-> Verify that the icons are highlighted when you roll over them with the
mouse
2. In the 'Run a command' field, enter 'a' then 'DEL' to remove the letter
you entered
Result:
When the use moves the pointer over the icons on the first row they are not
highlighted and he cannot click on them.
