Title:
eth0 disconnected after boot even though "auto eth0" -- r8169
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Thing I noticed on my two computers running Lucid:
Sometimes the network (cable) does not start automatically. I have to
manually do "enable network" on the nm-applet. I put
=================
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
=================
into /etc/network/interfaces but it still happens. This can be a
serious problem if the computer runs as a server or head-less.
